BEHIND KYREC

I'm a tradie, husband and father—building KYREC for families.

I'm Michael—a Perth plasterer, husband and father who started learning technology after work. KYREC grew from family life, late nights and one belief I could not let go of: technology should help people feel closer—not further apart.

THE LIFE BEHIND THE BUILD

This is what family looks like to me.

The ordinary, funny, tired and unforgettable moments are the real story behind KYREC. The mission is personal because it began with the people I love.

WHERE IT STARTED

A normal working life. One idea I could not leave alone.

Most mornings begin before sunrise. I run a plastering company and spend my days leading a small three-man team. We work predominantly for private homeowners rather than large builders. I like working directly for the people who will live with the result. In that setting, care, detail and good workmanship are seen and valued—not lost in a volume-building schedule.

At home, I am a husband and a father. My wife and I have been together for 25 years, and we are raising three daughters. Like so many families, we balance work, bills, time, tiredness and the constant effort to stay connected while life keeps moving.

After the working day, I began teaching myself AI and software. I was not a programmer and I never pretended to be one. I opened my laptop, asked questions, wrote code, broke things, fixed them and kept learning—often deep into the night.

The more I learnt, the clearer the opportunity became. Families did not need more disconnected apps fighting for their attention. They needed one trusted system that could support safety, routines, wellbeing and communication while keeping people in control.

Then the pieces began connecting. The Family Guardian app could help a household stay informed. Stan, Nova, Moneybags, Pulse and Scout could each have one clear role instead of one AI pretending to be everything. KYREC Core could connect those roles, learn only the useful patterns a family permits and keep the family—not the technology—in charge. Stan Orbit and Nova Rover could eventually carry that same intelligence beyond the phone and into the home.

That was the moment the idea became bigger than an app. The vision was a complete family ecosystem: software, trusted companions and physical products designed to work together around real life. One secure Core. One connected family system. Built from the family outward. That idea became KYREC.

FROM TRADE TO TECH

The journey is not a shortcut.
It is a series of honest steps.

I am carrying the habits of the trade into technology: understand the job, prepare properly, build carefully, test the result and improve what is not right.

01

The tradie

I run a small plastering company and lead a three-man team. The trade taught me to prepare properly, solve what is in front of me and never call a job finished until it is right.

02

Father

My wife and I have been together for 25 years and we are raising three daughters. KYREC began with the pressures, love and responsibility of real family life.

03

Self-taught

I had no software background. I learnt AI, Flutter, APIs, servers and hardware after work—one question, one broken build and one small win at a time.

04

The builder

The idea became an app, KYREC Core, trusted companions and early physical prototypes. Each part is being built around one promise: families come first.

WHAT THE BUILD REALLY LOOKS LIKE

There was no perfect time.
I built around the life I already had.

KYREC has been built around early starts, full working days and family life—during the hours most people never see. It has taken persistence more than perfection.

5:30 AM

Start the workday

Run the business, organise the jobs, work on the tools and look after the people relying on me—for a full 12-hour day.

5:30 PM

Husband & Father

Come home to the reason behind all of it: my wife, my daughters and the ordinary moments that matter most.

NIGHT

Build KYREC

Learn, code, test, design and solve the next problem—often for hours after the working day has finished.

MIDNIGHT

Still building

Push through the next problem, test what changed and move the whole vision one honest step closer before doing it all again.

“I did not wait until I knew everything. I started with the problem I understood best—family life—and kept building until the idea became something people could see.”

Michael Willard · Founder of KYREC

WHY KYREC HAD TO BE DIFFERENT

I was not trying to make another app.
I was trying to build the support families are missing.

The technology matters, but it is not the heart of KYREC. The heart is what the technology gives back: reassurance, understanding, safer routines and more time for people to be present with one another.

Connection before attention

Technology should create more meaningful family moments—not compete for every spare second on another screen.

Support without surveillance

Safety cannot come at the cost of trust. Families should understand what is shared, choose what is stored and remain in control.

One family system

Instead of disconnected apps and alerts, KYREC is being designed as one supportive system that learns routines and helps real life run better.

SUCCESS HAS A JOB TO DO

If KYREC grows, the good it can do should grow with it.

Big systems do not improve through good intentions alone. They improve when someone creates a better option—one that makes helpful behaviour easier, safer, more affordable and more rewarding.

That is the cycle we want KYREC to create: people benefit; communities become stronger; the product grows; and its ability to help grows with it. Our future plans include community sponsorships and practical support for families in need, carefully shaped by real needs and what KYREC can responsibly sustain.

Create real value. Grow responsibly. Share the benefit.

THE HONEST VERSION

A big mission—
without pretending the work is finished.

KYREC is at an early stage. We are building, testing and learning. The vision is ambitious, but every public promise should match what genuinely exists today.

WHAT KYREC IS
  • A family-first technology vision being built step by step
  • Early app work, practical AI education and a clear roadmap
  • A commitment to privacy, consent and human control
  • An invitation to families and supporters to help shape it
WHAT KYREC IS NOT
  • A replacement for parents, carers or qualified professionals
  • A guarantee that technology can prevent every emergency or all harm
  • An unfinished ecosystem disguised as a completed product
  • A promise of investment returns or effortless success

THE MISSION CONTINUES

If technology can make one family feel a little safer and a little happier, it is worth building.

That is why I started. My family is why I keep showing up. The families KYREC may help one day are why I refuse to stop learning.
